Great first read of Jane Cory!

This was my first novel by Jane Cory and I can’t wait to dive into more. Great character development and I sincerely cared for Mabel and Belinda. Recommend it to any suspense readers!

Uncovering the truth, one story at a time

I chose a recent Audible release, “The Stranger in Room Six,” because of the talents of author and narrator. The pairing of Jane Corry and Bronwen Price is brilliant, and I'll be seeking out more of their work. Corry crafts a unique thriller, thoroughly weaving together Price’s audictive narration with twisty turns that kept me fully engaged. I especially appreciated the dual storyline, which seamlessly jumps between two decades, adding depth and intrigue to the plot. Price's pitch-perfect vocals bring each character to life with ease and well-paced narration. We follow Belinda, a woman starting fresh after a longtime prison sentence, as she takes on a new job at Sunnyside Home for the Young at Heart. However, her past and the home’s secrets threaten to disrupt her new life. Mabel, the home’s oldest resident, knows secrets that could be deadly if revealed. Overall, I enjoyed this listen, despite a few slow moments through a few chapters – but most definitely worth finishing. I lucked out when I bought “The Stranger in Room Six” for a mere $11. A proper curtsy to Corry and Price, as well as Audible, for making this riveting listen available. Epic, indeed!

Loved every minute of this book, finished it in one day. Looking forward to reading more from this author

Double dual time line

First time reading this author. The story caught my attention immediately at the beginning. The first chapters introduce the first main character. Then we meet the 2nd main character. I love reading dual timelines. But the author took this concept to another level because eventually 1st character meets second character. They then begin to go back and forth with each of their back stories and current lives. There is a huge age difference so the back and forth goes to different time periods and only in the now are they sharing the same timeline.

The only complaint I have is that I chose this as an audible and the narrator took a while to get used to. I think some of her voices were too whiny or childish. But the story managed to keep my interest. The only other complaint was portions of the book were repetitions statements. It was as if she was trying to reach a word count.

Overall, I enjoyed it.
