When twelve-year-old Juno Jones follows her friends into a mysterious cave hidden in the woods outside Riverview, she's expecting nothing more exciting than a cool refuge from the summer heat. What she and her friends—history buff Max, quiet nature expert Ren, and brilliant engineer Harper—discover instead is an ancient device that hurls them back in time to Ancient Egypt.

Suddenly, they're over 4,000 years in the past, surrounded by workers building the Great Pyramid of Giza. With no idea how to get home and only each other to rely on, the four middle-schoolers must navigate a world where modern knowledge meets ancient suspicion. Their only guide? A strange mechanical owl named ECHO with more secrets than answers.

But they aren't the only time travelers in Ancient Egypt. A mysterious corporation called Tempus is altering history for their own gain, and their changes could have catastrophic effects on the future—including erasing the kids' very existence.

Now, Juno, Max, Harper, and Ren must find the courage and ingenuity to stop Tempus, protect the timeline, and find a way home. Their journey will test not just their knowledge of history and science, but the strength of their friendship and their own hidden potential.

In this first adventure of the Time Guardians series, four ordinary kids discover that they might be the only ones who can protect the past, present, and future. Because sometimes the most important moments in history aren't the ones in textbooks—they're the ones no one ever sees.
