This brand-new unabridged audiobook of The Two Towers, the second part of J. R. R. Tolkien’s epic adventure The Lord of the Rings, is read by the BAFTA award-winning actor, director, and author Andy Serkis.

The company of the Ring is torn asunder. Frodo and Sam continue their journey alone down the great River Anduin - alone, that is, save for the mysterious creeping figure that follows wherever they go. This continues the classic tale begun in The Fellowship of the Ring, which reaches its awesome climax in The Return of the King.

In my review of the first audiobook, I marveled at the superb read delivered by Andy Sirkus. This second bread surpasses the first. Brilliantly delivered by a master voice actor will precision and skill, it does not disappoint.

The read gets even better

Andy Serkis is without a doubt the best voice actor to do this reading of the Lord of The Rings!! A must listen!

Just wow…

You would think narration by Andy Serkis, who portrayed Gollum in LOTR movies would be awesome, right/. Wrong, wrong, wrong! He is over dramatic in the wrong spots, Aragorn is performed in a breathy whisper. He is too slow in voicing many of the characters. He pauses in the middle of sentences in many characters, resulting in a jerky, irritating performance. He is using some kind of electronic or pre-recorded enhancement for Gollum’s voice and it’s very noticeable and jarring when Frodo or Sam speak right after. Sam is a straight up mimic of Sean Austin. Pity he didn’t mimic some of the other actors. I returned this title.

Horrible narration!

It was a delight to listen to Andy perform the dialogue of Sméagol -not to mention that he is performing Sam and Frodo and the same time! Magnificent!

Andy Serkis-You are a GREAT performer!
