Unexpected delays cannot stop The Underground Book Readers from their goal of escaping the rule of the World Force. They plan to seek the free land beyond the mountains of Virginia and are now more determined than ever. The secret group discovers more books, tools, and clues to use in their planning. But surprise encounters with soldiers and strangers further complicate their efforts.
