Harry and Amelia start their idyllic marriage in the same way all newlyweds aspire to: unapologetically in love and tremendously excited to begin their lives together. Amelia is besotted with Harry. After years of being alone and almost giving up on love and marriage, Harry steps into her life and gives her the one thing she truly needs above all else: hope.

After their perfect wedding, the couple move to Manchester to set down roots, but life has other plans. When they struggle to conceive a child, Amelia is terrified that Harry might leave her, but Harry does the opposite. He becomes even more supportive and tries to help Amelia with her growing anxiety issues.

When tragedy strikes, and Harry astonishingly loses his life in an accident on a trip back to his hometown of Filey, Amelia is left broken and adrift.
