Good book, but author has great talent.

Author has a great quality of work. The plot line went ok and story was well thought out. I just felt like the author could do even better with an old school rpg style. Not this mass battles but with one on one Rpg. There the Author could truly shine.

However I do believe the next book moves in to that.

Never Ascribe To Malice...

...that which is adequately explained by incompetence. The ultimate moral of the story, here we have a perfect example of the old lesson. Our champion succeeds through a mix of making the right decisions for the totally wrong reasons and dumb luck, but it's the actions of his opponents that really cement this by not following this rule. And what's most entertaining about the book.
