From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Reminders of Him and It Ends with Us comes a hauntingly seductive tale of love, control, and the devastating secrets that can destroy it all.

When Tate Collins moves in with her brother, the last thing she expects is to collide with Miles Archer, a brooding pilot with an unrelenting grip on his past. Their attraction is electric, undeniable, and all-consuming—but Miles has rules. No questions. No future. A no-strings arrangement seems simple at first, but a deep, shattering truth lurks just beneath the surface.

Tate soon realizes that Miles is not just guarded but fractured. Torn between desire and self-destruction, his pain bleeds into every part of their dynamic. Miles’s past hides horrors that threaten to rip apart the fragile connection they’ve created, and Tate is forced to make a choice that will change both their lives forever.

With suspense simmering underneath every moment of passion, Ugly Love is a whirlwind of lust, heartbreak, and dark revelations that build to a stunning crescendo. For those drawn to the raw tension and psychological complexities of Verity, this is a riveting story where emotions erupt, secrets fester, and love may not be enough to heal the deep scars etched into the past.

Grace Grant was excellent as always. I just wish the would've picked a better narrator for Miles. I almost didn't think I would finish because his voice is so whiney. I did however skip a lot of the Miles parts.

Better Male Narrator

Any additional comments?

I love Colleen Hoover. The book was good. She never fails to keep me captivated. There was just a little something missing in the love connection between Tate and Miles. Maybe it was because most of the "love story" was focused on the Rachael story. But 4 - 4.5 stars because Colleen is a great storyteller. And for some reason the male narrator sounded like John Malkovich to me. So, in my head, Miles was the weird serial killer guy from Con Air.

Good book

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes because it was a good heart wrenching story. You felt bad for Tate, you got frustrated and angry with Miles. You wanted Tate to tell him off, but then again you had to say Miles was upfront and honest with her the whole entire time.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Ugly Love?

When Miles said to Tate, "I can't love you, but if I could, you would be the person I would fall in love with" I knew he was hooked it just took him a while to get on the same page.

What about Grace Grant and Deacon Lee ’s performance did you like?

I love Grace Grant, she is fabulous! At first I did not care for Deacon's portrayal, I found him annoying. But then when you gauge his performance based upon the difficult trauma Miles went through it all came together. I would say his performance grew on me. I was surprised that I did not like him at first because I do have other books by Deacon that I enjoyed.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes because I was trying to figure out who the hell Rachel was and what happened to her.

Ugly love=broken frustrated heart

Any additional comments?

I love CoHo books, she makes you feel the same intensity that you feel when you are in the movie theater with deep bass and the giant screen and all of your senses completely absorbed by it. That is exactly what a CoHo book does to me and Ugly Love is no different.

I found myself completely sucked into Miles and Tate. My heart breaking for Miles and my heart breaking for Tate, but in completely different ways. Tate, getting her masters in nursing and such a strong woman. Willing to put her heart as sacrifice to Miles, that is so destroyed from his past... there is no recovering.

Luckily, because she is CoHo, we get a lot of humor sprinkled in. Almost wholly stemming from Cap, a well meaning doorman that mostly works evening when all the action is happening.

This book is filled with laughs, cries, drama, angst and a whole lotta love. Totally credit worthy.

The narration from Grace Grant is amazing. She completely sucked me in and held me there. Deacon's narration was a little old sounding for the 18 year old he was portraying but I do think he pulled off the immature lilt of an adolescent. By the end, when he was portraying the adult Miles, his voice had lost that immaturity and although subtle, I did notice.
