BETH LAPIDES executive produced and hosted Un-Cabaret for Comedy Central. She hosts and curates the Un-Cabaret Say the Word series and the Other Network. She is also a commentator for NPR's All Things Considered and The Huffington Post, and she had her own daily talk show on Comedy World Radio.

This piece was recorded as part of Un-Cabaret's Say the Word series, featuring great comedy writers reading their own original, first-person nonfiction at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.
