Finding out they were mates, however, was the ultimate payback. Before they settle into the whole mate thing, someone tries to murder Gund's sister, and Leo nearly dies trying to save her. They discover the attempted murder was just a diversion for the real threat. When they try to prevent that threat, they learn there is an even bigger one waiting in the wings. With all the threats emerging, spending the rest of their lives together might not even be long enough to have a proper date.

Mage Plus Dragon Equals Guardian

I’m really enjoying Andy Gallo’s Mages and Mates series. Each book tells the story of two beings recognizing their mate in situations not conducive to such a mating. Gallo weaves an interesting story full of magic, paranormal beings, great sex, and a terrifying overarching plot to bring a demon army into the world where humans are vulnerable but a coalition of different beings are working hard to keep the demons in their own world.
I love the dual narration. Each voice actor brings their character and others to life. It’s amazing when human narrators work so well that the book is brought to life beautifully.
