Not for beginners, but if you know a lot about the war between the states and want good first hand accounts this is for you.

Love this book. Very well balanced

Mitcham again tells the unfortunate but courageous story of a people tired of being taken advantage of by the North and who wanted to be left alone.
Not all northerners were barbarous, not all southerners were barbarous.
Mitcham again strikes an appropriate balance.

Excellent Read. Highly recommended…. Good story telling. Home town feel. Pick this one up. I need to get this one in hard back .

Seriously interesting perspectives.

Really helps put a lot of things in to perspective. Thanks to this book, I really want to dig deeper into history, besides what was written by the victors.
