West with the Night

Beryl Markham, the first person to fly solo across the Atlantic from east to west, describes her childhood on a farm in Kenya, her apprenticeship as a horse trainer, and her later career as a pioneer aviator who piloted passengers and supplies in a small plane to remote corners of Africa.

Pure poetry

Well not quite pure. Add wisdom and beauty. The reading too was phenomenal. My favorite audiobook by far. Enjoy it!

The book flows with descriptions, energy and experiences. The performance is great! It is as if Byrl were telling the tales.

Beryl’s bravery and clear thinking, even as a young child, were the common thread throughout her life.

The narrator did an excellent job of bringing the character to life with detailed artistic writing that painted a clear picture of Africa.
