Great story line and performance

Greatly enjoyed the story of an unassuming families travel out west. Nice change to a familiar tail.

Excellent descriptions and well developed main characters (the antagonists were a bit two dimensional).

good narrative and suspenseful although story line somewhat implausible. I guess folks were so anxious to go west as to leave so late in the season and go with such a suspicious guide

the good guys were challenged and despite the odds they struggled through. wish there were additional books for a series.
