Before her brother kicked her through a magical portal that eventually landed her in nowhere Tonopah, Nevada, he called her an agent of chaos. But let's be fair. Our Scarlett doesn't create problems.

Her magic just attracts it in all shapes and furry sizes.

Like her familiar, Runeclaw. The black cat's tongue is as sharp as his nails, and he has a snark that can cut through just about anything.

This time though, trouble was already here.

The small town Scarlett wound up in is already home to a conspiracy or two, along with a dark magic hidden in the shadows. Perfect for Scarlett and Runeclaw in the worst possible ways. Maybe her brother had a point.

Nah. It's just another coincidence. Right? What plans do the dark forces of Tonopah have in mind for our motorcycle-loving witch? Want to find out?

I'm so tired of authors writing crap that just doesn't make sense.

- Someone just GIVES her a custom motorcycle after just meeting her and an envelope of cash an hour later.

- She magically assists (from a distance) some people (who don't see her there and who you assume know nothing about magic) trying to load a refrigerator into a truck, then walks up and basically says "You're welcome".

- A man whose magical family has watched over a town for generations has no idea how anything to do with taking care of said town, works. Like he just discovered his family history

The narrator was okay but she pronounced a few words strangely and it kind of throws you out of the story for a few seconds.

Couldn't get into it

Really couldn't get into this story. The narrator was...fine but not captivating at all. Found myself zoning out and not bothering to replay parts I missed.

Hard to finish...

CH 11: I don't know If it's me rn but it is so hard for me to pay attention to this book. There's so many details but no reason for why they're doing what they're doing. There's no glimpse so far as to what's happening, or why things are happening. Things are just happening... Will update when I finish.
