For Dylan Ward and Cole Mercer, the Wyoming backcountry was supposed to be a playground of deep powder and high speed. But when the mountain shatters, a massive slide buries them in a tomb of ice and silence.

Digging out is only the first impossible step. Isolated, disoriented, and miles from help, they emerge into a landscape stripped of life. Cole is critically injured, his leg destroyed, unable to stand. Dylan is his only hope, dragging him through the deep snow in a desperate bid for salvation.
