The author has a good story as part of the “World War 1990” series, but the use of the “virtual voice” program effectively ruins the overall performance for an audiobook. The computer voice has no emphasis or emotion making the narrative like the teachers voice in “Ferris Bluers Day Off.” Additionally for a performance about ANZACs it may have been a little more engaging if the “virtual voice” was done in an Australian accent since the majority of the dialogue was Australian.
