Whoa

Too dark & morbid… all the bloody & gory analogies were just too much for me. Finished solely because this is my favorite narrator and she helped to keep my interest. Just very disturbing.

What a lovely family

They did nothing wrong! I feel sick, but I'm sure that's unrelated. Perfection, as always, each dance better than the last.

Excellent!

I really enjoyed this listen. The narrator is one of my favorites and the story was just creepy enough that it was entertaining and not flooded with gore.

I didn’t like the ending

This book was labeled as horror but it really wasn’t horror. I think it was more suspense/thriller. It is a slow burn and didn’t really pick up until the last quarter of the book. I didn’t like Elodie and my opinion of her did not change when the book ended. She was damaged and had some serious issues. She treated her child like he was something she could forever keep small and needy for her. She was a terrible mother and not a good person. The ending was very disappointing because in my opinion the wrong person survived. It was ok definitely not something I would listen to again.

I can always guess the ending, but not this time! Couldn't stop listening! Riveting, intense, constantly guessing... must read!
