The author/narrator is a great writer and tells an interesting story about gut health and function. She spends a couple chapters reeling her backstory, then dives into historical and modern GI research. It isn’t really until part 3, more than halfway through the book, that she actually gives any advice…90% of which boils down to eat more fiber, less processed food, and don’t sit on the toilet too long. I was hoping for some new and novel information. Don’t get me wrong, the science is very interesting and well presented, but most of it leads to more questions than answers.
