The Pittsburgh Penguins are going back to the Stanley Cup Playoffs!!

Needless to say, Jordan and Jeff are beside themselves with unadulterated joy, personified by the sign-offs you’ll hear at the conclusion of today’s episode.

Sidney, Kris, Evgeni, Erik, Bryan, and Ben all sat and rested their weary bones for yesterday’s 6-3 loss to Ovechkin and the visiting Washington Capitals, but the big boys will PLAY today as the Caps make their final regular season home-ice appearance. That’s clunky writing folks, but it’s Sunday afternoon and admin is heading to their part-time job.

Florida Men 04/02/26

Nothing says ice hockey like FLORIDA, as for the past two NHL seasons no hockey club has been more successful than the FLORIDA Panthers. And if it’s Florida hockey yinz want, then you’re in luck - the Penguins tonight kick off a three-game stint versus the Lightning and Panthers. Tonight’s game versus the Bolts will be played in Tampa, with the Cats curling up in Pittsburgh for a back-to-back residency at PPG Paints Arena on Saturday and Sunday. The Tampa team looks pretty darned dangerous and it’s never wise to count out a reigning Stanley Cup champ, regardless of (the Panthers’ mounting) ongoing injuries.

Lords Of The Shootout 03/27/26

As we’ve been saying for YEARS, the Pittsburgh Penguins are the Lords Of The Shootout, striking fear into the hearts of any opposing team’s goaltender.. etc, etc.

We kid, we kid. Back-to-back shootout victories for your Pittsburgh Penguins are of course unheard of and downright unexpected - but the Steel City’s flagship hockey club managed the feat nonetheless, besting ace goaler, Linus Ullmark for a massive 2-point party in the capital of Canada. As of today’s posting (Fri March 27, 2026) the Penguins are in sole possession of 2nd place in the Metropolitan division.

The podcast you’re listening to was recorded the day before said game, on the heels of two epic home losses to the NHL’s top teams, Carolina and Colorado.
