Philippians 3:2–11
What does it truly mean to know Christ—not merely to believe in Him, but to be found in Him?
In Philippians 3, the apostle Paul issues a sober warning against misplaced confidence. He exposes the subtle danger of trusting spiritual credentials, discipline, or religious effort rather than resting fully in the grace of God. Drawing from his own story, Paul renounces every ground of self-reliance and points us toward a deeper center: being found in Christ, clothed not in our own righteousness, but in the righteousness that comes from God by faith.
This message traces three movements in Paul’s journey:
A warning against false confidence rooted in the flesh
A radical renunciation of self-made righteousness
A new center of life—union with Christ in His death and resurrection
Along the way, we are invited to examine where our hearts lean when life presses in. Are we anchored in our background, our obedience, or our reputation—or are we resting our full weight on Christ alone?
This is a reflection on surrender, belonging, and the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus our Lord.
