On a cold day at Target Field, the Minnesota Twins won their home opener, and then promptly went cold at the plate, losing two of three against the visiting Tampa Bay Rays. David is enamored of the start by Simeon Woods-Richardson and impressed by the play of Tristan Gray. But he wonders just how long Twins fans will need to wait to see Kaelen Culpepper playing shortstop for the Twins. Mother Nature clearly conspired with Major League Baseball to tilt the scales against the Minnesota Twins in this series, as they lose two of three to the Kansas City Royals at the occasionally wet and foggy Kaufman Stadium. David sees the glimmer that was Taj Bradley's start, while Dan wonders whether there might be true depth to the lineup with the hitting performances of Josh Bell and Matt Wallner in this series. The Minnesota Twins season is here, and so are David, Dan and Hoges with their predictions and analysis. Hoges has little optimism left and expects that the Twins will trade their best players by mid summer. David thinks the best hope the Twins have is in their long-haired second baseman. Dan has hope that the Twins' current plan at shortstop is going to work out better than its plan did last year. As the guys look over the schedule, David points to May 10 as a key date. The World Baseball Classic is heading into the quarterfinals after a round of pool play that was memorable for many reasons, including the "misspeak" by Team USA manager Mark DeRosa.
