A Grandiloquent Greeting from the City Varieties!
Ladies and Gentlemen, Me-Lords, Ladies, and Gentlemen! Pray, silence! Cast your sensory waves toward the proscenium arch and prepare to be transported, transfixed, and—dare I suggest—totally transformed! Today, we present for your delectation and your absolute, unadulterated diversion, a broadcast of unparalleled brilliance!

We welcome to our illustrious airwaves the purveyors of that auditory extravaganza known as The Old Gits & Hits! Today, they shall engage in a tripartite tussle of topicality, a cacophony of conversation, a veritable Cornucopia of Contention! Observe as they dissect:

The Gracious Game of Golf: That "splendid walk spoiled," where men of a certain vintage pursue a diminutive dimpled orb with a determination bordering on the demonic!

The Sudsy Saga of Soap: From the bubbling cauldrons of cleanliness to the melodramatic machinations of the afternoon serial—a subject both fragrant and fractured!

The Piquant Palatability of Pizza: That circular, savoury, and suspiciously Italianate disc of dough, topped with a plethora of perilous provender!

Will there be agreement? Never! Will there be harmony? Hardly! But will there be a high-spirited hootenanny of heritage and hits? Incontestably!

So, I implore you, put your digital digits together, raise the rafters of your celestial cavern, and give a gargantuan, Gallic, and GORGEOUS welcome to... THE OLD GITS AND HITS!

Incidentally, I think you might just like it.

Well, we thought we would add this very short snippet from our visit to Clevedon, Somerset, where we recorded the whole show live.

As we were standing, recording the programme in a bandstand on the seafront, our discussion focused on the fact that there was zero graffiti anywhere on the bandstand, which, given the amount we see in most outdoor places around the country, was a testament to either the locals in Clevedon or the community. Then, as is usual, Chris managed to lower the tone of the whole show with one word. Now we won't spoil it for you, but listen in and see if you understood the word before David did (he actually had to look it up).

Anyway, it made us chuckle, and hopefully you to.

It's a very special show this week as we were invited into Weston Hospice during 'Love Your Hospice Month'.

There cannot be many who aren't aware of the great work carried out by staff and volunteers daily at one of the many hospices across the UK. It also can't have missed your attention that once again, hospices are in the news with funding issues, for they are, of course, charities and NOT fully funded by the NHS.

We took the opportunity to visit and spend time meeting and speaking to many of the team, from clinicians, fundraisers and volunteers at Weston Hospice. We gained a great insight into the work carried out by the 'team' and found it informative, enlightening and equally entertaining.

Hopefully, you will find listening to our visit as enjoyable as we did making it, and that it will provide you with a full insight into the operational workings, issues and situations we found. Of course, these will most certainly be echoed across the country at your local hospice, wherever you are listening.

The above just about sums it up; We debate the rigours of life and how we endeavour to tackle them. Chris continually reminds us that he doesn't have the same issues that David & John experience. Mind you, with Chris's 'freedom' aiming to end in Oct (he gets married), both David & John remind him that it will be all change from that day, as I am sure you all agree (well, if you are married that is).

As for the impending nuptials of Mr Criddle, he updates us on the order of service and the duties of the Best Man, and that, of course, is the stag do. Chris is under the impression that the stag do is likely to be a 'low-key' event. Well, not if we have anything to do with it (which we haven't). Still, as Chris has agreed to pay for us both, we will give him the benefit of the doubt. And you could well be invited as its likely the service will be streamed.
