Europe is burning—and Germany stands at the centre of the storm.

In the aftermath of Hitler’s collapse and the fracture of the Nazi state, the Western Allies and the provisional German government battle to restore order while a new, more dangerous threat rises from the east. Stalin’s Red Army, swollen with tanks, men and ruthless ambition, launches a relentless drive into Central Europe, determined to seize Germany, crush resistance and push its borders to the Rhine.

But Germany does not stand alone.

British, French, Polish, Czech and reformed German forces forge an unlikely alliance, meeting the Soviet onslaught in the snowbound fields of Saxony, the forests of Brandenburg and the shattered streets of Berlin. From desperate counterattacks to brutal house-to-house fighting, the defenders claw back ground inch by inch—only to face new Soviet offensives that seem endless.

When the SS unexpectedly strikes south of Hamburg, sacrificing itself in a suicidal assault against the Red Army, the balance shifts. Combined Allied armies rally for a final stand, beating back wave after wave of Soviet armour and halting the Kremlin’s advance.

Across Germany, in Czechoslovakia and Poland, the Soviet machine strains, cracks and finally stalls.

But Stalin is not finished.
And the road to victory runs through fire.
