When Jane answered the door, she said, "Come on in, I'm just finishing getting ready."

But to Theo’s amazement, he saw someone laying on a tiny bed, more like a cot; in the corner facing the wall. All he saw was her butt hanging out of the covers.

He thought to himself right then and there.

“I don't know who she is, but I'm going to marry that butt.”

He approached the woman slowly, with some hesitation, so as not to scare her, and asked, "Are you ok, miss?”

The story is amazing. The love and resilience of Theo and Miriam is inspiring. There were times I had to stop because I could feel the raw emotion. Theo is strong and determined to give Miriam everything. Miriam is devoted and spunky. I can imagine the stories she has to tell. I can't wait to see where the story goes from here.

Through the wreckage of war and the weight of loss, their hearts burned steady — proof that even in life’s fiercest storms, love refuses to fall.

I had the pleasure of listening to 59: A Novella by Meghan M, beautifully narrated by Cali Ravenwing, and it was an experience I won’t soon forget.

From 1923 and 1927 childhoods to a single, radiant meeting in 1942, this blend of historical novella and memoir traces Theo and Miriam through hardship toward a love that ignites against the backdrop of war. The path is strewn with manipulative relatives, loss, grief, poverty, and conflict — but threaded, too, with resilience, loyalty, friendship, respect, and glimmers of joy that keep both them and the listener moving forward.

Some scenes are so raw you’ll need to pause, take a breath, then press play. The pace stays taut without dwelling on lengthy backstory, yet the cinematic writing grips from first scene to last, and Cali Ravenwing’s deeply felt narration amplifies every beat.

The ending is blissful and beautifully earned. As debuts go — for both Meghan M and Ravenwing, herself an accomplished author — it’s a striking one. Minor recording quirks never overshadow the story’s power or the sensitivity of its telling.

A true-life love that lingers long after the final word — an unforgettable listen I’ll carry with me, and a promise of more magic from two remarkable talents I recommend without hesitation.
