It's Queens, New York, and it's time for the Ball of Balls, and the Sinsational Delights Department of the (mostly) online mag Eat This! are all a twitter! Mimi (sexy fun columnist) and June (her dear friend and boss) are readying Mimi's column, A Bagel For Your Thoughts, to cover all things food and romance related leading up to the Ball.

But Rutherford Smith, owner of the media conglomerate that publishes Eat This! has placed his douchey son Jake at the helm. Will Jake choose to close the department or give them a new life? Can exceptional bagels save them? And why on earth is Jake so cocky but also so very attractive? Does it have anything to do with that British accent or is it his muscles or could it be his knowledge of how to use a KitchenAid?

Join this wild and wacky cast of characters as they navigate love and food and lavish events amid a backdrop of New York in all its glory. It's love, it's bagels, it's the best kind of New York kitsch.

A wonderful NYC romp! Full of zany characters and situations, this book is a delight from beginning to end. Looking forward to book two!

Bageliscious!

I loved this. Gabra had me physically smiling and laughing. So many books hit me in my intellect. I think “oh that’s funny.’ But I don’t laugh. THIS made me laugh and smile, moan in despair (the inevitable misunderstandings), sigh when it all works out.

This is a very NYC book. Having lived there for many years I felt that city’s rhythm in the diversity of characters and their voices. And h the bagels!

I really look forward to the next book. I was totally engaged with the characters and screamed “nooooo!” When Gabra left the cliffhanger of Juniper’s romance.

Romance done right.

Engaging, funny, romance done right

When I pulled up Google Maps and realized my drive was the exact length of A Bagel For Your Thoughts, I knew it was meant to be. The torturous problem? I was driving south, further and further away from the New York bagels that began haunting my dreams after starting this delightful contemporary romance.

A Bagel For Your Thoughts is the perfect bite sized snack of a book that had me laughing out loud numerous times as I flew down the interstate.

The story is fast paced, fueled by witty banter, thoughtful anecdotes, and toe curling tension that left me giggling and wanting more. 😉

I often find myself shying away from shorter stories simply because of the length, but A Bagel For Your Thoughts wrapped up in such a satisfying way that left me entirely sated. This New York fable is only the beginning of Gabra’s Hole in One series, and I’m excited to find out what her lovely and diverse characters have in store for us in their future New York adventures.

Gabra is an absolutely delightful and engaging narrator, and she brought her words to life in an intimate (and hilarious) way that paid such tribute to the story. Gabra’s voice is a masterful blend of melodic whimsy and commanding presence… and don’t get me started on her British male accent. The woman gives good Brit, what can I say? 🤌

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed A Bagel For Your Thoughts and highly recommend this five star read for any afternoon adventure! My only recommendation? Don’t go in on an empty stomach. 😉

Absolutely yummy.

This book was simply the sweetest, most perfect balm for my heart in these insane times!! It is witty and silly and funny. It is a love letter to love. It is a love letter to Queens. (The best borough!). And, yes, it is a love letter to bagels! Gabra is a masterful narrator and she performs her book with the perfect blend of sparkle, intellect, vulnerability, and humor. Give your brain and heart a little timeline cleanse and read this book. I’m so glad I did!

Pure joy!

Loved all the rich characters, humor, and pretense. New York is its own character in the story too. I can see this as a series.

I loved it!
