A Basic Guide to Making Money on Your Idea

This basic guide is about making money on your idea. It is not about creating a great idea. In my opinion, the process of creating an idea is a mysterious concept that is not subject to a specific identifiable process. If someone tells you they can teach you to create a great idea, throw them out of your office! They are wasting your time. If the great-idea-creation process was known, IBM would already own it. They probably would have created the personal computer operating system (remember IBM purchased the operating system from two youngsters in Washington, even though they had 20,000 programmers already on staff), or created the iPhone, the Internet, Google, Facebook, Groupon or dozens of the other great ideas of the last 50 years. As you know, IBM did not. The evidence is clear. You cannot be taught how to have a great idea. But once you have that great idea, you can learn techniques for making money on your idea. People do it every day. Why not you?
