As an epic nor'easter bears down on the idyllic island town of Eastport, Maine, Jacobia Tiptree hurries to prepare her antique house for the big blow, while the town battles to evacuate tourists and save the beloved 200-year-old Seaman's Church steeple, threatened by the storm. But when a local teen beauty-pageant winner from a troubled family is found murdered in the steeple's bell tower and Jake's son Sam's visiting childhood friend comes under scrutiny as a suspect, the resulting storm of gossip and suspicion rivals anything the Atlantic could brew up.

¿¿Who wrote the review of this audio book?? there is NO beauty queen. And Maggie didn't get accused of murder.

sarah graves never disappoints. as a Washington County, Maine resident, her writing just makes me happy! attention to detail, right down to the description of the haddock burger at the New Friendly Restaurant, is spot on, and pure entertainment for "us locals."

amazing, as always

The last two or three books were more horror stories than mysteries and I had to skip them. This one is back to the kind of story I loved in the beginning of the series. This has a long tale of multiple simultaneous crises, and the ending was perfect. Good job.

Back to good mystery

At first listen her stories seem like they might be too cozy but there are always enough twists, painful human cruelty and family/town back story to keep it interesting and me wanting more. Thank you Sarah!

As usual, Sarah Graves gives good cozy mystery

This is one of the best books in the series. It is possibly one of the best books I have read this year. Sarah Graves does a very good job weaving together several plotlines and well developed characters without confusing her audience. Jake and Ellie were not the main investigators in this book, and that was okay. Their roles were not diminished in the least. I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Her Best Yet!!!
