I am a chronically too-busy woman and have to be discerning about what I listen too. Who has time for a lackluster book? If the first chapter doesn't grab me, I'm moving on. I listened to the first book in this series, 'The Echo Killing', and loved it. Before the last page, I felt as though Harper McClain was an old friend. An old friend who makes ridiculously poor choices, but heck, who am I to judge? The book was great enough for me to be pleased to begin 'A Beautiful Corpse'. I was prepared for a really good read, and looking forward to finding out what happens next. Well, *Holy Moses*!! I
was spellbound from start to finish. When I wasn't listening to it, I was wanting to get back to the book. It was on my mind like a new lover, seriously. When I finished,

Daugherty wrote 'A Beautiful Corpse' in a way that doesn't make it completely necessary to get the initial book, 'The Echo Killing'. If you haven't already, do yourself a nice favor and read it first anyway.I have the third book ready in my library. I hope there are many more
