Have you ever had a position snatched from under you? Pay years of service to a company just to have the CEO position handed over to an outsider? To hate that outsider so much, you start tormenting him?

Laylee

When the eerie new guy with gorgeous blue eyes stole my CEO position, I became a complete brat. Unfortunately, August had other plans. His retaliation was unorthodox, and now I'm thrust into a new world that was right under our noses this whole time. There are demons, vampires, werewolves, and who knows what other wild creatures... er, I guess not so wild since they might be our nextdoor neighbor.

August
I knew taking this new position would upset a few people, but now I was a target of a corporate BRAT.
Laylee, the woman who made the Devil shudder when her feet hit the floor.
She rubbed enough elbows with the right people to safely secure her position at Solar Security. Meaning I couldn’t fire her, so I'd given her three chances to stop the name-calling, snide remarks, and overall sneaky behavior.
Did she heed my warnings?
No.
Now she was mine forever, but what does that entail with Laylee Joseph?

This book was such a great read. I mean I love the action and the suspense in all. I can’t wait to read the next installment. Plus that laylee is a boss and she met her match with August. I am wondering will Monique and Kal have something going on? I can’t wait to see what unfolds love this book.

So good even with virtual voice. I hope they have the other brothers stories soon. I’m very busy I don’t have time to sit and read a book.

So good 💗

The book is a little ridiculous but the virtual voice narrating makes it so hard to keep up. It’s distracting

The virtual voice is horrible

The AI voice is really good. I didn't like it because of the psychological torment. There's a whole warning section in the beginning that was drawn out and really long therefore I tuned it out. I am sure psychological torment was in the warning section but I completely missed it. One of the main characters it's purposely making the other main character feel insane, to the point that they consider admitting themselves into a hospital. I honestly will never know what the outcome of this is because this is too much for me. Please heed the warning in the beginning if you have trauma triggers.

The virtual voice often fails to capture the subtle nuances present in a character's dialogue, making the listening experience less immersive. It cannot always identify when a word should be pronounced differently based on its context, which can lead to confusing or awkward moments in the narration. I find that audiobooks with both female and male narrators are much more engaging and help bring the story to life. Having human narrators draws me into the narrative, allowing me to connect with the characters and emotions in a way that virtual voices simply cannot match. While I acknowledge that human narration may come at a higher cost, I am more than willing to pay extra for the authentic and enjoyable experience that only a real person can provide.
