Clara Whitfield has spent her life balancing ledgers and longing for a place to belong. Marriage to a Nevada sheriff promised the home and family she’d always dreamed of—but in Red Rock Crossing, she finds only wary glances from spirited twins who want no part of a new mother, and a husband whose grief has left him closed and distant.

Sheriff James Mercer never expected to marry again, let alone a stranger from New York with steady hands and haunted eyes. But when a daring bank robbery shatters the fragile peace of his town and places his children in harm’s way, James is forced to depend on the very woman he isn’t sure he can trust.

Drawn together by danger and tested by secrets, Clara and James must fight side by side—for the town, for the children, and for the unexpected bond sparking between them. Yet bullets are easier to face than broken hearts. To build the family they both yearn for, they’ll have to risk more than their lives…they’ll have to risk love itself.

This was a predictable story with a few lumpy lines that didn’t seem to fit with what was happening but overall it was pretty good. I usually don’t like virtual voice at all but this was a bit better than most.

A simple sweet country love story.
