First published in 1843, Charles Dicken's classic morality tale transformed the manner in which the Victorians, and generations to come, would celebrate Christmas. Miserly Ebenezer Scrooge's visitation by three spirits to confront his own past, present, and future in order to learn the true meaning of the holiday season has become one of the most beloved stories in literature.

Adapted countless times to stage and screen, what is often lost from this original text is Dickens' warm and witty narrative voice. The joyful, haunting story comes to vivid life in a performance by award-winning narrator Joel Froomkin.

Thanks to Joel for this wonderful edition of this Christmas classic.
I already bought another narrator's edition before, but when I saw this one with Joel's name on it, I bought it without thinking.
He always makes the one-person narrator feel like there are so many people speaking, and it is like a full-casts drama version.

Love Joel Narration

I now have four favorite ways to enjoy Dickens’ classic: reading it, watching the muppet version, listening to Sir Patrick Stewart’s performance, and now Joel Froomkin’s exquisite narration. He is a very gifted narrator. It’s so easy to be swept up in his reading, and sometimes hard to remember that it’s not a cast of people I’m hearing, but one wonderful performer.

I don't think I've ever actually read A Christmas Carol, so the drive to visit my parents for Christmas seemed like the perfect time for it. It's pretty sad and depressing, but ends on a high note. And you will not convince me that Scrooge and Marley weren't partners, in every sense of the word.

Mr, Froomkin's performance was excellent, but I wouldn't expect anything less from him!

Excellent narration.
