Christmas should be a time of joy and warmth, but for Miss Marple, it brings a haunting sense of dread. When she meets a charming couple during a holiday stay, her instincts tell her something is horribly wrong. The woman's life, Miss Marple fears, hangs by a thread, though everyone else sees nothing but holiday cheer. As a veil of deadly intent lurks beneath festive decorations and warm firesides, Miss Marple races against the ticking clock of the holiday season to expose a sinister plot. A Christmas Tragedy invites readers to witness a holiday mystery where merry appearances hide murderous intent, and only Miss Marple can reveal the twisted truth behind the tragedy.

Not only is the narrator not British, but he has an odd inflection at the end if sentences.

Poor narration

Doesn't Audible listen to the narration before releasing a book? I can't imagine anybody other than the narrators mother listened to that narration and thought it was good.

Doesn't Audible listen to the Narration?

I did not like the narrator for this piece. it is a short story about Miss Marple, but this narrator is an American man. Having a Miss Marple story read by a man with an American accent was just off- putting and not as fun to listen to. If you want to listen to this story, buy the Midwinter Murder collection instead. It's got a bunch of other stories too, and the narrator for this same story in that collection is a British woman, which just goes better with the overall story I think. As far as the story goes, I think it's kind of a tragic little story, but Agatha Christie can do no wrong. I really enjoy Miss Marple and her observations on the world.

Wrong narrator -- get "Midwinter Murder" instead

The narration is very odd with no intonations and almost no pauses. It is actually hard to listen to.

The weird tone of the narration is off putting

This is god awful. The narrator is horrendous. I should have read the other reviews first. I thought maybe I could power through and still enjoy the story, but nothing grabbed me quick enough to get me through.

Edit to add: I powered through and finished the story. The story itself was fine and worth the read.
