And what if, after being saved, a man—along with those poor fools unlucky enough to be his companions—found himself facing assassins, a strange magical hermit, a demonic cult, and a very demonic demon?

If there are lessons to be learned, then they are the same lessons the world had been trying to teach Dannen since his birth. Insane mages make for poor friends, the only thing better than being a hero is being alive, and the most important lesson . . .

Things can always get worse.

this series has been in my top 10 recently, I can't believe they don't get more listens!

as always, another super story by JP..

this is an excellent series and the narrator does a great job in telling us the stories ... my only complaint is that they don't last very long (albeit, 16 hrs is a good amount of time) ... the MC and his group of friends keeps one engrossed from the first to the last word ... the narrator does a really good job by providing us with a variation of voices and by inflection, especially for the friends of the MC ... it's simply a really neat story to listen to ... can hardly wait for the next one! Job well done, JP and Mr Narrator!!!

Still funny

I like the humor, the characters, and the story itself. Great stuff. Keep it up, awkward middle aged humor is pretty good.

I laughed through most of it just like all of the other books in the series. the story is funny the narrator is awesome

Excellent Series

Love everything about this series and hope author writes more. One of the best DnD type fantasies out there. Adventure abounds!
