Writer's apprentice Lena London is happily working on a new collaboration with her idol, best-selling suspense novelist and friend Camilla Graham, but her joy is short-lived when a dark cloud descends upon the quaint town of Blue Lake, Indiana....

Lena's best friend, Allison, is in a panic. On a walk in the woods by her home, Allison discovers the body of her mail carrier, an argumentative man who recently had a falling out with Allison's husband. Lena quickly realizes Allison has nothing to worry about, as the murder weapon points to a different suspect altogether: Lena's embattled boyfriend, Sam West.

Sam was cleared of his wife's murder when she was found alive, and now someone is trying to make him look guilty again. Surveillance video of a break-in at his house shows a shadowy figure trying to incriminate him by stealing the weapon from his desk. Lena and Camilla work on a suspect list, but a threatening note and a violent intrusion at Graham House prove the devious killer has decided to write them into the plot.

So much better overall experience with the new narrator. Will try another in the series.

Thank you for changing narrators

I liked the performance by Rebecca Mitchell better. She was the Narrator on the audio books I got from the library. Ann Marie Lee makes her Enunciation too forceful and it make the story flow less smoothly. I also didn’t care for Camillia’s “ accent”.

Narrator wasn’t my favorite.

I love the story itself but not a fan of the change of the reader. Her read change the characters in a way that I almost sent the audible book back and bought the hard copy to continue the story.

I really wanted to like and enjoy the audiobook. I use for traveling and sometimes for relaxing at home. big mystery/ thriller fan but found this series extremely boring. Even for free waste of time.

Dull

My hubby and I loved the first two books, but had to stop this one after about 45 minutes. The narrator is over the top in her acting and the volume kept going up and down. It is not enjoyable at all. It is so very dIsappointing. The first two books narrated by another narrator was great, which is why we purchased the remaining three books through Audible. It was our mistake in not noticing the narrator was a different person. We hope you have a better experience, if you chance listening to this book.
