Angie, 6, and sister Polly, 4, are utterly distraught when they arrive to stay with foster carer Cathy Glass. Their older half-sister Ashleigh has accused their father of something horrible, and the two young sisters have been removed from home to keep them safe.

Cathy tries to comfort the girls, but they are inconsolable. They just want their mummy and daddy, whom they love dearly.

The girls appear to have been well looked after, but as they settle and start to talk of life at home, it becomes clear something is badly wrong. Then a chance remark sets in motion a chain of events that eventually changes everything.

I’ve listened to every Cathy Glass book and this one, like all the others did not disappoint. The narrator has such a lovely voice. How she can switch up voices for every character is nothing short of amazing. They make a great team! Please keep writing Cathy!

We must always take seriously any child abuse allegations. However, we cannot denied that children also lie and that too can have serious consequences. Cases like this must be taken seriously and investigated throughly. Thank God this family had a happy ending. Thank God for diligent foster parents. Great story.

As usual a deeply touching and candid story of a family and crisis and how a foster carer helps and supports them through a very difficult time. Well told by Cathy Glass and beautifully read by Danica Fairman.
