Interesting Read, Poor Audible Voice Work

I purchased the Audible version alongside the Kindle version because the price was reduced. At the time I did not know much about Ms. Fletcher but it had been recommended by a friend.

This is not a book for true romantics or those who blindly follow their hearts. Ms. Fletcher provides fairly solid advice and examples of how to play the 'game' on equal footing as men. There is a business like quality to some of the relationship advice detailed, but for the most part Ms. Fletcher is trying to show you how the dating game can work for you in these modern dating times.

I personally would not use every suggestion listed within this book but I believe the overall message is to know your own value and to be aware that every relationship is like a business relationship - with each party having wants/needs and desires that the parties have to reach a compromise for.

I recommend the Kindle book if you're interested - it may not be to everyone's taste but I do not recommend the Audible version. Ms. Fletcher narrates the book and I really feel she should have hired someone else. She has a breathy, flat tone throughout the audio that makes you feel the she was standing in front of a classroom reading off a paper while studiously avoiding looking at her fellow classmates.

I liked the books idea of treating every dating relationship as a hypergamous one. As a single mom who struggled for years trying to get by,I knew that the next time I get married it would be to a man who could change my life and make me feel like Cinderella. So I knew my dating pool would have to change. I love how you went into such detail on how to stay goal oriented and use every opportunity to accomplish your goals. However I don't like the idea that in order to achieve this type of relationship there must be any sort of dishonesty. As a Victor of childhood abuse, I think that using that as a tactic to gain sympathy is wrong. There are a lot of really AMAZING, kind hearted men out there that happens to be well enough established financially to change the life of the right woman ( No trickery required). I also thought it lacked detailed reciprocation in the relationships. Otherwise it sounds like using them. You mentioned being friends with some of the guys for a long time and still having a close relationship with them. Maybe more mention of ways you nurtured the relationships to keep them so strong. So now that you have done such an AMAZING job at detailing how to achieve goals in relationships instead of just dating to waste time, You should do another book on the type of wife you would need to be now that you have found your King. You know....the next Chapter. Loved the book.

Entertaining and though provoking!!!!

This book is a must read for any women who wants to know how to be in control, demand respect and build her confidence especially when it comes to dealing with the opposite sex!
