Justin and Davey met in kindergarten and were quick to befriend each other, despite their families’ differences in social class. Justin was a descendant of the town's original settlers, and Davey was an orphan being raised by his alcoholic uncle on the wrong side of the tracks. The unlikely duo quickly become inseparable, with Davey even moving in with Justin’s family.

One day while hiking through the woods, in a frantic moment of desperation, Justin did something that would change their lives forever. Haunted by the memory of what he did, Justin starts hallucinating, and people who have wronged him start turning up dead. Justin realizes he will have to face his past, his most grisly secret, in order to stop the town from being terrorized by what he believes to be the ghost of Davey.

Interesting story

This was an interesting story. I like how it was told from childhood through adulthood. The unexpected twists throughout the book were very interesting as well. Several things happened in ways I did not predict. The bittersweet ending was was very nice and unexpected. The narrator did a good job as well.
