Five identical murders, five different suspects — no one of them could have done it all!
Sarah and Tyler continue their efforts to reel in the mass serial killer, Dwight Spalding. As they do so, another horrific case comes to light. Five men had been murdered all in the exact same manner. There are five suspects, one for each crime. None has a motive and none could have carried out any more than one of the slayings.
Sarah and Tyler are mixed up in the case, but this time one of them has a lot more to lose than ever before, who holds the secrets?

Narrated beautifully by Lincoln Gillet, A Kettle of Hawks turns into a dangerous thriller.
Another gritty thriller from this series with a wild murder case that keeps being turning on its head the more you read. Still reeling with the shocking revelation of her former, agent Sarah Brightwater is given a new partner in Pedro Delgado as a very complex and bizarre set of murders and suspects demand their attention. Nothing makes sense though in Sarah's mind and at makes her wonder if the shadowy serial killer Spalding could be behind those murders... even the supposed suspects are in danger as the body count rises. The murderer Spalding casts a very tall presence within this book and not just over the that unfolds but also clearly still being able to exploit survivors Megan and Ellie, leaving them twisting in the wind if either person can never be truly freed from such a messed up individual. What's revealed about the journalist reporter Tyler Ford is as disturbing as he has this own dark demons he tries keep at bay but even Tyler's own secret are just a step away from destroying him if they were to be exposed. It changes and challenges readers to question do we truly know everything about a person or is it all an illusion until the person reveals who they truly are
Highly recommended.

I was gifted an Audible version of this book from the author through Story Origin. The narrator, Lincoln Gillett, was easy to listen to, although he was a little too laid back for me. I prefer more excitement and expression. I still give him 5 stars. My problem, not his.
Not your typical bird book.

AN UNKINDNESS OF RAVENS, #1 - I usually like books by this author, but this one I dislike. While the story lines are interesting, I disliked the FBI agent. Instead of being like a dog with a bone, she was like a mad dog with a living baby. Source: My Kindle library. 3*
A CLATTERING OF JACKDAWS, #2, Audiobook - This is a better book. The FBI agent isn't as unlikeable as she was in the first book, just a dog with a bone. Picks up where #1 ends. Interesting story lines and good characters set to a good pace. The narrator Raymond Kallai does a good job with his reading and the voices of the characters. Source: StoryOrigin and Ghost Creative. 4*
A KETTLE OF HAWKS, #2, Audiobook - This book picks up where #2 ends. Interesting story lines and good characters, including an improvement with the FBI agent, set to a good pace. The narrator Lincoln Gillet does a better job with emotions instead of just reading, but some of his voices take a bit to adjust to since I listened to this book after #2.
