A vengeful lady, a ruthless lord, and a dark reckoning that could destroy them both...

Lady Lillian Blackmoore returns to London in humiliation—her former fiancé now engaged to her dearest friend, causing quite the stir among the ton. Desperate to reclaim both her dignity and her lost love, she strikes a devil's bargain with Lord Samuel Malek, London's most ruthless financier, whose vendetta against her former fiancé runs generations deep.

Their plan is simple: destroy the relationship that stole her happiness. But Lord Malek's thirst for revenge conceals secrets darker than Lillian imagined, and his growing captivation towards her threatens everything he's spent years orchestrating. As their scheme unfolds, she finds herself caught between vengeance and desire, drawn to the very man who could destroy everything. With scandal threatening to drive her from England forever, she must decide if the right kind of ruin is worth risking everything.

This closed-door Regency romance is the first book in the 'Ladies Betrayed' Series, where each story stands alone.

This author comes up with some great story lines. Both the stories and characters are complex and not predictable which continually pushes me on. A character who seems likable at the beginning, may be much less so as the plot progresses. I also appreciate that these are “clean” romances. I have no problem with the virtual voice.
