Firstly you should know that this book contains domestic violence and child abuse.

Secondly, wow, just wow. There is so much to like about this book, the characters are so well done it feels like they could walk off the page, the emotions the story conveys are strong and raw, I found it impossible not to get drawn in. The book is told from the perspective of an adult telling their child about a pivotal time in their life, I got so swept up that I forgot, I was surprised when I got to the end and it went back to this setting.

I'm impressed by the creativity that went into creating both the main story and all the visions that Alex sees when experiencing psychometry.

The book is well worth listening to and the narration contributes a great delivery that helped convey the strong emotions of the story and excellent character voices.

I love paranormal stories and enjoyed the book even though I’m not a teen. It is about Alex an elderly detective telling his story as a 14yrold. It was heart wrenching past for Alex with his stepfather. I loved the fact he could interact with ghosts by touching objects. He has a lot of guilt unable to save Frank and esp. Gloria. Paige is a true friend who believed in his ability. I look forward to Alex’s next adventures as he matures. Recommend to anyone who enjoy paranormal coming of age mystery. Story was good, main character touched items and had visions of peoples murders surrounding the object. Which is great, so it progressed normally then took many unexpected, in good ways, twists and turns. The ending was sad but good, a good lead into a second book, though I am curious how they will continue the story... Warning: lots of death and murder, death of a child...
