Written by British-born author Frances Hodgson Burnett and first published in 1905, A Little Princess tells the story of young Sara Crewe, privileged daughter of a wealthy diamond merchant. All the other girls at Miss Minchin's school treat Sara as if she truly were a princess. But when Captain Crewe's fortune is sadly lost, Sara's luck changes. Suddenly she is treated no better than a scullery maid.

Sara's fierce determination to maintain her dignity and remain a princess inside has intrigued and delighted listeners for almost 100 years, even inspiring a recent popular feature film.

This is such a brilliant story for young and old alike. The narrator performed very well and her voice and expression was very fitting to the story.

Great Read

I have read and memorised this book from childhood. Love it! the narration was clear and crisp but perhaps lacking a little tone variety. the narrator tried to do different voices and inflections but it still sounded just a tad monotonous. That said, it is still one of the better narrations available and was enjoyable all the same.

my favourite childhood book
