High school science teacher Carla Sims is successful and happy with a network of close friends. But in affairs of the heart, she’s newly alone and happy to stay that way. After receiving a phone call from her aunt, she rushes across the country to be by her dying grandmother’s side.

Janice Carpenter is a recently divorced literature professor who can’t seem to get her best friend’s niece, Carla, out of her mind. Ever since Carla came out, Janice has been inexplicably fascinated by her, and when she sees her again, her feelings are uncontainable. Before she knows it, she’s offering Carla a quiet place to stay to regain her balance during her visit.

Under the same roof, the fiery passion neither wants to end bursts free. But Carla was never planning to stay, and Janice struggles to come out. Will Carla and Janice realize that the road to home is closer than they think before love flees?

Love the development of the characters and how they delt with the issues. It made me laugh and cry the events were so real.

Great story!

the author truly captured the struggle of a straight woman having been married and then having feelings for a woman, The complication however is that the location was in small town southern rural Bible belt America. and the prejudice of the people contributed to her difficulty to deal with her feelings she had struggled to come to the surface,

heart-wrenching

Some mixed feeling here. Good start, solid characters and decent plot. However midway through it got redundant. Janice got on my last nerve. Angsty and immature, the MCs acted like they were 17, not 40ish.
Narrator was solid, which kept me listening.

Just ok

I read the whole book but there were more then one time that I thought of putting it down and give up. There was very little drama, sex scenes were over the top towards the 3rd part of the book. Narration was Ok,

Nothing to write home about
