Good Peoples and 4 Guys and Trouble, both Blackboard best-sellers, sealed Marcus Major’s reputation as a hot name in contemporary fiction. A Man Most Worthy is a lively story of love, ambition, sex, and friendship. At 36, self-made millionaire John Sebastian has it all - a booming business, a luxurious home, a gorgeous girlfriend, and the respect of his friends - but somehow it's not enough. Returning to the tough streets of Newark, New Jersey, he spots Josephine Flowers, the love of his life, the woman he allowed to walk away seven years ago. He is driven to reconnect with her, even though the cost to his pride is high, and even though she's now married to another. For only her blessing, her love, will prove to John that he is, at last, a man most worthy.

Critic reviews

"Major breathes life into an old formula with his vivid, fast-talking characters and his rich descriptions of their friendships, milieu and workplace politics. His pop culture references are well deployed to give the book a fresh-but not studied-feel." ( Publishers Weekly)
"This is an entertaining and insightful novel told from the male perspective." ( Booklist)

Great read about Love A 2nd Time Around, the characters were believable and the story made sense. Caroline Clay did an excellent job as Narrator, and she is the reason I chose this book.

This book had a very clear and well told story. Loved it. I enjoyed the main characters. Theirs was a tale that deserved to be told, and I was extremely involved and excited to hear/read it. I didn’t only enjoy Josephine and John, I also enjoyed Jules and Gloria. Having worked in school districts, and low performing students, I can say from experience that the book rang true. More than guess work was involved in the writing of this book. Great job Mr. Major. I hated to come to the end. And as for the narration by Caroline Clay, it was spot on. She is great at what she does. Bravo’s all around.

A thoroughly enjoyable book

Josephine and John's love story made me smile, cringe, laugh out loud, and proud all in one.
The one complaint is there is a lot of " He said," She said," or "They said" in the conversations back and forth. I understand that's how the story was written, but when listening to it be read aloud it's kinda annoying. But overall a very enjoyable book.

Funny and Enjoyable
