The recording is not what it should be. Please update…wrong description. I would like my money back.

No modern English!

I bought this ONLY because of the promised Modern English version of they play. My family and I really enjoyed the Romeo and Juliet version before we watched the play live. But this version, despite what the description say, does *not* include the modern English version, only the admittedly good original version. If they update it to include the modern English version, I'll change my review, but as for now, you shouldn't bother buying this.

Great Way into a Classic

I wish Audible would release more of these audio renditions of No Fear Shakespeare. This edition of A Midsummer Night's Dream presents a complete dramatization of the original, followed by a dramatization of the modern English version.
The dramatization of the original uses modern voices, tones, and pronunciations to help make the original more comprehensible while not losing any of the original poetry.
I listened to the modern text alongside an annotated version of the original play. I realized that I had missed a lot of the original humor and richness of the text.
The acting is a bit over the top and hammy, but this audiobook, with both the original and modern text versions, helps the listener/reader get an in-depth exposure to a rich and hilarious Shakespeare play.
