Cute, but they don't tell you....

I mostly enjoyed this book, but was a little taken aback that it is an "inspirational" book. I wish it would have mentioned that in the description. It pushed a little too much in that direction for my liking. The rest of the story was very cute but some of the situations she got herself into were a little crazy.

I thought it would be funnier, it wasn't really. It was good enough, a bit entertaining but rather kind of sad and of course you see the happily ever after coming a mile away. That was alright if the rest was a bit more interesting.

Exactly what I needed while keeping up on my chores

I was just going to leave five stars and be done with it as I didn’t think I had too much to say, but one of the first reviews that appeared under mine was “one star” reviews because people were so offended about the fact that it talks about God. This book is labeled as Christian fiction. I don’t know how these readers missed that very important and obvious detail.
I was seeking Christian fiction when I found this author.
One review was so anti-God that I stopped and prayed for the person who left the review.
This book is not even “very Christian” other than the dad prayed over dinner and the love-interest prayed over dinner and they asked to give a few things over to God when life gets difficult. Those are some of my favorite parts in the book.
If I remember correct, the name Jesus wasn’t even mentioned one time. I wish it was, and I wish it would have had even more inspirational moments, apparently the author has a tiptoe around these types of things-Such a fallen world when it is OK to push other agendas, but prayer is somehow worthy of a one star review.
It’s equivalent to me finding some non-Christian book and leaving it a one star review because they don’t talk about God. I’m just confused why someone would read this book and then be offended-that’s satan for you, he loves confusion.
I just wanted to point out that this is a wonderful, hopeful, entertaining and easy to listen to book. I highly recommend the author. This is my second book that I finished by her. I look forward to more.

I loved the lead character, Gretchen, because she was so witty and easy to identify with.

Any additional comments?

I laughed out loud all the way through this book. You don't normally find a lot of humor in Christian/Inspirational fiction so it was a really nice surprise to be chuckling from start to finish. As soon as I finished this book, I hurried to see what other audiobooks were available from this author. I can't wait to read more!!!
