From the bestselling author of The Girls of Mischief Bay and The Friends We Keep comes a twisty tale of family dynamics that explores what can go terribly, hysterically wrong when the line between friendship and family blurs

Zoe Saldivar is more than just single she's ALONE. She recently broke up with her longtime boyfriend, she works from home and her best friend Jen is so obsessed with her baby that she has practically abandoned their friendship. The day Zoe accidentally traps herself in her attic with her hungry-looking cat, she realizes that it's up to her to stop living in isolation.

Her seemingly empty life takes a sudden turn for the complicated her first new friend is Jen's widowed mom, Pam. The only guy to give her butterflies in a very long time is Jen's brother. And meanwhile, Pam is being very deliberately seduced by Zoe's own smooth-as-tequila father. Pam's flustered, Jen's annoyed and Zoe is beginning to think "alone" doesn't sound so bad, after all.

Friendship isn't just one thing it's a million little things, and no one writes them with more heart and humor than book club sensation Susan Mallery!

This was a cute, fun read but the narrator’s voice for Zoe and Jen was pretty sing-songy. And when they got to the potentially very hot sex scene between Jen and Kirk??? The words were very sexy, but the narrator could have been at the McDonald’s drive-thru. That was the unsexiest sex scene ever! He touched me on my #%£¥, and I groaned with pleasure - and could I get fries with that? I had to get my husband to listen to it. It was almost comical.

Cute story but the narration???

I enjoyed the book. sometimes it's nice just to listen for fun instead of having a complicated and serous story.

One of Susan Mallory’s best. Not too many characters and each is just complex enough without being ridiculous. And Tanya Eby is always a great narrator.

An excellent story

This is book number three, but would make a good stand alone book. You will be captivated by this series. Susan has a way to take things and twist them so your interest flows and the book never dulls. The storyline is well developed with believable with likeable characters with many different topics in this book. As usual she has written in humor, romance and lots of love. I recommend this book for a nice afternoon read.
