After the murderer threatens Elizabeth and her family, she escapes and goes into hiding. With no money and no way to get home, she accepts employment as a maid at a great estate.

Entertainingly true to Austen vibe - great AI

The tale was easy to get lost in, with details and dialogue that felt true to the Lizzie vibe. While I adore creative re-imaginings of my favorite book people, I’m not typically a fan of AI narration - but enjoy trying them out. This one was stunning in the near-human phrasing. At times I forgot that a human wasn’t reading. I recommend this listen for all but the most discriminating Austen fan.

Creative and fun

Story is very clean, interesting twists and turns, lots of anticipation of the outcome. For some people, the attack at the beginning of the story might be a trigger. But I thought it was handled well- gives a lot of suspense/fear without going into too much detail or danger.

The first 23 chapters were good

The last part was a real letdown. I don’t know what happened to the author, but she really let me down toward the end. The first part was very exciting.
