Very interesting book

Enjoyed listening. The story of the inhumane treatment in their prisons was heartbreaking. Thankfully Yosiely was reunited with his family. Truly a happy ending.

Had my attention all the way through!

I chose this rating because this book is so timely. In the 21st century we still see the brutality of a totalitarian government oppressing its own but being unable to break the true human longing for dignity and freedom.

How fortunate it is to be an American!

Amazing story, of love for family. Demonstrates how fortunate we are to, be Americans, This man ran from his country Illegally, to enter our country, illegally. He showed the true American spirit, and is a far better person, than so many of us ! All for the love of his family!!!

Captivating Performance

The story is certainly worth listening to and gaining perspective from, but in my opinion the best thing about this Audible book was the person reading the book. I believe I would not have been as captivated if not for his performance. Well done!

Timely and moving

This story opened my eyes to the desperation of oppressed people and why they risk so much to come to America. Very important.
