A Shadow of Love is a paranormal romance story of an abused woman and a dead poet. When Annabelle flees her abusive husband and moves into an 1860s farmhouse, she soon learns that she is not alone; she shares her home with Christian, the ghost of a poet who killed himself in 1917.

Christian, wanting nothing but solitude, tries to scare Annabelle away, but once they come together while she is dreaming, they fall in love. The clock is ticking for Christian, for moments after his hanging his fiancé magically cursed his spirit to be stuck on earth for 100 years, and his time is almost up.

With Annabelle's ex threatening her and the spirit she has fallen in love with on the verge of disappearing, Annabelle becomes obsessed with staying with Christian, and will do anything to be with him.

Being in love with a ghost is bad enough, but for Annabelle, discovering that her true love will be crossing over at any moment pushes her over the edge of reckless behavior.

A sweet romance and ghost story

A Shadow of Love is a sweet romance and ghost story about a cursed ghost and a woman escaping an abusive relationship. The lead character is a bit of an emotional wreck, but that is to be expected considering her circumstances. The romance proceeds very quickly however, and I’m amazed she manages to keep her job with as little as she works.

Contains sex scenes, so reader discretion is advised.

The narrator does a good job bringing the story to life.

Interesting Psychological Thriller

This was my first experience with Amy S. Cutler's work, and it was entertaining. The story revolved around a young woman who had left her abusive husband and moved into a haunted house. The story was good, and it kept my attention; however, I thought that the characters were a little one-sided and they lacked depth. Theresa Bakken's narration was fine, and her voice was pleasant. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Ghosts can pull your heart strings

This paranormal romance gives you all the feels. Relatable characters and a romance of a lifetime. An enjoyable story for my commute 👍 Looking forward to more reads from this author 😊
