Brenda Murphy is in her senior year of high school in beautiful sunny California...and suddenly learns the horrible news that her father has been transferred to Salt Lake City, Utah in the middle of the winter. Not only are there no gorgeous sandy beaches there, but it feels like the Arctic Circle in Utah with its freezing temperatures and snow falling constantly! She is clueless about how to ski and has never made a snowman in her life!

If she has to go through one more change, she is sure she will scream! As she walks to the bus stop on her first day of school, she's positive she's moved to Alaska with the icy cold temperatures! How do people survive in these cold temperatures? By the time she reached the bus stop, her teeth were chattering so hard, she was sure she couldn't carry on a conversation with anyone if her life depended on it! Fortunately, when she climbed the stairs of the bus, she could feel the warm heated air...and it felt like heaven as she carefully made her way to an available seat.

A fairly good-looking guy with jet black hair and piercing blue eyes asks if he can sit in the seat next to her. She nods her head due to still thawing out from being a frozen icicle. Dillon Burke laughs at her humor and gradually the two get acquainted. With his good looks, she's sure he must have one or two, if not a million girlfriends and dismisses the idea of him ever being interested in her.
