In A Table by the Window, best-selling Christian author Lawana Blackwell combines inspiration and intrigue.

Carley Reed didn't have an easy childhood, but now, as a settled adult living in San Francisco, she has managed to make a peaceful life for herself. Everything turns upside down, though, one morning when a private investigator finds her and informs her that she has inherited her grandmother's house in a small town in Mississippi.

A great book with a twist in the plot. Kept your attention. I hope there will be more by this author.

It was a very nice read, and I did enjoy it. Some parts were a little elementary, and at times, the reader was a little robotic. Still, over all I enjoyed both the story and the reader, and would recommend the book to friends.

very nice

This is one of the best books I have ever "Read". I can hardly wait until Audible has more books by Lawana Blackwell. You won't be disappointed in the story. The narrator is not the best, but you soon get over that as you get into the story. It is so good!!! I wish there were sequels to this one. I would love this story to go on and on.

Incredibly Good!!!!

I don't think I would have named the book A Table by the Window as that played a minimal part in the story. This story had an overall good message, but it seemed the story dragged at times. I kept feeling like I wanted to press fast forward. This story is about a 26 yo teacher who learns she has inherited money and a house from her grandmother. This young teacher had a difficult childhood that involved abuse and neglect. Consequently, she had no faith in God. Her life changes as she moves to a new town and essentially gets to start over. She begins dating the local sheriff and he has a lot of skeletons in his closet. Seemed like there were several unanswered questions with the sheriff. Random information about him was thrown in here and there. Narration was fair. Jennifer

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would recommend the written book, but not the audiobook. After struggling through about 3 chapters, I gave up on the narrator and bought the Kindle book so that I could finish the story. I just couldn't handle the stilted style of reading. The narrator handles different accents fairly well, but did not do a good job of the narrative parts...very choppy, slow and irritating. Did not flow at all.

What did you like best about this story?

The characters were interesting enough for me to want to find out how the story continued and ended.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Andrea Gallo?

I've enjoyed the following female narrators:
Kirsten Potter
Christina Moore
Cynthia Darlow
